  • Chris Kreider scored his 30th goal of the season and became the fourth different player in franchise history to score 30 goals in 43 or fewer games in a season, joining Rod Gilbert (42 GP in 1971-72), Bill Cook (42 GP in 1930-31 & 1926-27) and Don Murdoch (43 GP in 1976-77). Kreider's 30 goals lead the NHL, and he became the third player in Rangers history to be the NHL's first skater to reach the 30-goal mark (tied or outright), joining Lynn Patrick (1941-42) and Bill Cook (1926-27 & 1930-31). Since 1967-68, Kreider is the 14th player to record his first 30-goal campaign in his 10th NHL season or later. Overall, Kreider is the 28th player in League history to do so. Kreider's tally extended his goal streak to six-straight games (9G). He became the seventh different Ranger since 1991-92 to record a run of equal or greater length goal streak, joining Mika Zibanejad (2; 6 GP in 2019-20), Darren Turcotte (2x; 6 GP in 1992-93), Jaromir Jagr (6 GP in 2005-06), Petr Prucha (6 GP in 2005-06), Mike Gartner (6 GP in 1992-93), Sergei Nemchinov (6 GP in 1991-92). Kreider's goal was his league-leading 15th on the power play and 73rd of his career, passing Mark Messier for sole possession of eighth place on the Rangers' all-time power-play goal list. He became the first Rangers player with 15-plus power-play goals through his first 30 tallies of a season since Petr Prucha in 2005-06 (16). This only includes players who scored each of their first 30 goals a season all with New York.

In his last 14 starts, Shesterkin has allowed two or fewer goals in 10 of them.
