by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

The New York Rangers announced today that center Blair Betts suffered an isolated, grade 3, sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during the first period of yesterday's game against the Florida Panthers. He underwent an MRI today to determine the extent of the injury and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Betts, 25, has registered four goals and one assist, along with 14 penalty minutes in 42 contests with the Rangers this season.
