Fresh off a vacation to Walt Disney World with his family, Rangers winger Matthew Barnaby takes a look at the 2003 NHL Playoffs and offers his take on each second round series.

This could be intense. I could argue for both teams, but in the end I think Ottawa will advance. Philly spent a lot of energy to get to the 2nd round and I think they are still recovering. There is a lot of reasons to like the Senators - their first-round victory over the New York Islanders was led by Daniel Alfredsson, but they showed they can roll more than a few lines and still get production. Hossa was at the top of Ottawa's scoring list in the post-season. Hossa has turned it on in the playoffs and is always dangerous. Lalime can get into a zone and seems to be dialed in. He needs to stay strong or Philly could be advancing.
PREDICTION: Ottawa in 7.

I am proud of my old mates in Florida! They are playing excellent and have really come together as a team. Unfortunately, they drew the Devils in the 2nd round. These guys are a machine right now and I don't think St. Louis or The Bulin Wall can stop these guys. New Jersey has too much defense, too much experience. This Brodeur guy looks like he will be sticking in this league. He seems to be a capable goaltender and seems to enjoy shut-outs. Tortorella will have to coach a miracle.
PREDICTION: Devils in 5.

I have to be honest. I already know that Anaheim won the first game! Even so, I am going with Dallas here. A hot goaltender can take you a long way and Jean-Sebastian Giguere has played out of his head, but I still think in a 7 game series Dallas has too much. And, Dallas has a very solid goalie in Turco. They have Modano, Arnott and Guerin should be back soon. I also think Dallas has a stronger defense.
PREDICTION: Dallas in 6.

Are you kidding me? I did not see this coming at all! I think this will be a great series and I say Vancouver will walk away with the series. Naslund, Bertuzzi and Brendan Morrison can score on any shift and put a lot of pressure on the other team. They seem like they are on a mission and I like that line a lot. Vancouver can make you nervous in goal, but I still think Cloutier will hold his own. Manny Fernandez, who won the series with three wins, will start for Minnesota, but he has not been the clear starter. I think that is always dangerous and I think he may be trying not to lose the game as opposed to trying to win it. We will see.
PREDICTION: Vancouver in 6

These games have been awesome and more overtimes than I can ever remember.

Talk to you soon!
