Anson Carter Journal - Preparing for the Worlds

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

Hello everyone.

Throughout the off-season, I will be checking in from time to time on to let you know what I'm up to.

I arrived this afternoon in Latvia after making the six-hour trans-Atlantic trek to Frankfurt, Germany, then on to Riga. I was so excited about getting the opportunity to represent my country in this year's World Championship that I didn't sleep a wink on the flight and I'm paying for it now because its seven hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.

There are a lot of great players playing for Canada in this tournament and hopefully and I can add to my two previous World Championship gold medals.

I'm still disappointed that we didn't make the playoffs but this gives me an opportunity to prepare my mind and body for the rigors of playing hockey well into the month of April and May which I plan on doing next year with the Rangers.

Ciao for now!
