I've just arrived in Helsinki and we're back at the hotel now after a crisp 45 minute practice in preparation for the Czechs. We play the Czechs in the first semifinal game and the Swedes play the Slovaks in the other, which should provide the Finnish people with two games of outstanding hockey tomorrow night.
We're breathing a little easier after disposing of the Germans in OT yesterday, 3-2. The game should've been over after the first two periods but we gave them life in the third and they took advantage of it.
I'm gaining valuable experience in the leadership department over here because I'm one of the alternate captains and the guys look to me for some sort of stability. It's my first time having this role for Team Canada and its something that I feel will help my game tremendously when I get back to New York.
Well, that's it for now and hopefully I'll have an update about getting ready for the gold medal game ... or I'll be writing about how it feels to be adding a third gold medal to my collection!
