On Sunday, April 17, Rangers Assistant and Goaltending Coach Benoit Allaire (photo, right) provided local kids with the unique opportunity to take part in a special Goaltending clinic at the MSG Training Center as part of the Junior Rangers Youth Hockey initiative, presented by Powerade.

Later in the day, Blueshirt Assistant coach Mike Pelino and former Rangers winger Brian Mullen hosted a pair of on-ice instructional clinics: a Parent-Player clinic and a Beginners clinic.

In addition, members of the Rangers training staff provided fans with the unique opportunity to tour the facility. Fans visited the locker room, equipment room, medical room, fitness room and classroom training room for a personal behind-the-scenes look.

Parents Comment on the Junior Rangers Youth Hockey Clinics:
Bryan Schaughnessy
(Son, Bryan)
"The kids get a number of coaches per player, which is great. They get a lot of attention about what they are doing right and wrong. Everything the Rangers do is top notch. They are the best organization in the area. That's why we keep coming back. Bryan has been to the forwards clinic and to the goalie clinic. Every time the Rangers host a clinic, we'd be glad to come back."

Janet Galiczewski
(Son, Mike; Daughter, Jessica)
"I think it is wonderful. It gives them the opportunity to be together. The clinic is run beautifully and the kids really do a lot of drills. My kids play organized youth hockey and my husband is a coach so I think that this is a nice opportunity for the family. Besides ... we are unbelievable Rangers fans!"

Dawn Tennenbaum
(Sons Spencer, Lance, and Brent)
"I think it is awesome. I think the Rangers have done a really nice job. It makes the families feel good, and especially the kids."

Michael Sury
(Son, Steven)
"It's tremendous. The clinics provide great instruction for the kids. It enlightens these kids that don't know about the professional organization and it is a really nice program."

Rico Pennella
(Son, Rico)
"Most obvious, is the level of instructions that the kids get here. They get to work with people on the pro level. I thought it would be a good experience for Rico. We are lifelong Ranger fans. It was a great experience for him to come here today. It seemed like there was a lot of instruction and overall, a great time for everyone."
