On-Ice AM Sessions: Campers were joined by New York Rangers alumni Ron Greschner who instructed players through even strength situations that develop better control and puck protection.
On-Ice PM Sessions: Players were thrilled when current New York Ranger Michael Del Zotto stopped in to sign for all of the groups prior to their afternoon practice. The focus during the on-ice session was passing. Odd man situations were utilized to develop greater awareness, anticipation and creativity. Goaltending coaches progressed into proper butterfly movement with their instructors.
Dynamic Training: Was led by Coach Jason Fortino of Total Nunziato Training located in Elmwood Park, NJ. Tuesday’s program continued developing faster transitions and quick feet through a progression into cone work.
Classroom Session: stressed the importance of hydration in an athlete’s daily routine. The lesson covered warning signs of dehydration and the importance of keeping the proper amount of water in your body throughout the day.
Off-Ice Skills Sessions: Took time out of the day to go over stationary passing with drills such as accuracy and quick touch passing. Norris and Patrick group increased the player difficulty with faster execution.
