by Jay Levin / Nashville Predators
Preds prospect Colin Wilson assisted on James vanRiemsdyk's overtime goal as Team USA rallied from down 2-1 in the third period to post a 3-2 OT win over Czech Republic in the fifth-place game at the World Junior Championships. Team USA finished the tournament with a 4-2-0 record.

Wilson finished the tournament with three goals and nine points in six games, while attempting a team-high 25 shots on goal. Fellow Preds prospect Jonathon Blum completed the tournament with two goals and four points.

Team USA followed its dissapointing loss to Slovakia in the Quarterfinals with a physical contest against the Czechs. The US opened the scoring on Eric Tangradi's goal 8:36 into the first period. That score held up until early third period when the Czech Republic scored at the 2:23 mark tie the game and then again at the 10:59 mark to grab the late one-goal lead.

Cade Fairchild scored a power-play goal with 6:58 remaining in regulation to tie the game 2-2. VanRiemsdyk netted the game-winner 2:49 into overtime.

In other action at the World Juniors, Team Finland with Preds prospect Jani Lajunen knocked off Germany 3-1 to finish at the top of the relegation round standings and ensure a spot in next year's World Junior Championships. Lajunen completed the six-game tournament with one goal and six shots.
