Wilson Assists in USA Win

Predators 2008 first round pick Colin Wilson notched an assist, his first point of the tournament, to help Team USA to a 6-1 win over Austria in Day 4 of the World Championships. With the win the US improved to 2-0 in the tournament and secured a spot in the next round. US team captain Dustin Brown scored a goal and two assists to pace an American offense which featured six different goal scorers. Preds defenseman Ryan Suter was held scoreless with one shot on goal. Wilson had two shots on goal and set up Lee Stempniak's third period power-play goal.


In other action on Day 4, Team Finland rallied from an early deficit to knock off Denmark 5-1. Antti Miettinen and Niko Kapanen led the with for Finland with three points each. Both scored two goals and one assist. Tuomas Pihlman scored the other goal for Finland, the game-winning tally early in the second period. Preds defenseman Ville Koistinen was held off the score sheet, but registered four shots on goal in a team-high 22:39 of ice time. Pekka Rinne, who recorded a 30-save shutout in Finland's tournament opener, did not play in Game 2 as Kari Ramo got his first start of the tournament, making 18 saves for the win.
