No team in the conference has more than 16 games or fewer than 13 games remaining on its schedule … Five teams have 16 games left (Chicago, Phoenix, St. Louis, San Jose, Vancouver) … Six team have 15 games remaining (Calgary, Colorado, Detroit, Edmonton, Minnesota, Nashville) … Three teams have 14 games left (Anaheim, Columbus, Los Angeles) … Dallas has 13 games remaining … No team has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention in the Conference. Los Angeles is the closest with a "magic number" of 10 points before the Kings would be eliminated from contention … No team has clinched a playoff spot. Detroit is the closest with a "magic number" of 15 points to secure a playoff spot.

Central Division
Detroit continues to lead the division, while Nashville has climbed into a playoff seed … Chicago and Columbus are both six points out of a playoff seed, while St. Louis is eight points out …The Red Wings start a five-game homestand which includes three games this week against Central Divisional foes … The Predators have four games until the next notebook, three against teams currently in a playoff seed and the fourth at Vancouver, the current No. 9 seed in the conference … The Blackhawks also play four games this segment, including a three-game homestand against Anaheim, San Jose, and Edmonton … The Blue Jackets play only twice more this segment, home contests against Edmonton (14th in the Western Conference) and Tampa Bay (15th in the Eastern Conference) … The Blues open a brutal nine-game road trip this week, starting tonight at Detroit and running through March 23 at Chicago.

Northwest Division
Minnesota and Calgary are tied for the division lead, while Colorado sits in the No. 7 seed … Vancouver is in the No. 9 seed just two points behind No. 7 Colorado … Edmonton is nine points out of the playoffs … Minnesota has three games this segment, back-to-back road games at Eastern Conference opponents Carolina and Atlanta, before opening a four-game homestand on March 9 (San Jose) … Calgary plays two games this segment, home contests against Central Division opponents, Nashville and St. Louis … Vancouver also hosts Nashville and St. Louis this segment, before hitting the road to play the LA Kings … After this segment the Flames have just five home games remaining on the schedule as opposed to nine remaining road games … Colorado has four games this segment, including a home-and-home back-to-back set with Dallas (March 8-9) … Edmonton plays three games all against Central Division foes, including road games at Columbus and Chicago.

Pacific Division
Dallas continues to lead the division and hold on to second place in the conference standings … Anaheim, the hottest team in the NHL with a 9-1-0 mark in its last 10 games, is in the No. 4 playoff seed four points behind Dallas … San Jose sits one point behind Anaheim in the No. 5 seed, despite playing two fewer games than Anaheim … Phoenix is five points out of the playoffs, while Los Angeles is 19 points out … Dallas plays three games this segment, a home game against Phoenix tonight (March 5) before its home-and-home back-to-back against Colorado (March 8-9) … Anaheim plays four games, starting with a road back-to-back set a Chicago and Colorado (March 5-6), the first of four back-to-back sets remaining on Anaheim's schedule … San Jose plays four games, a home contest against Ottawa before taking off on a three-game road trip … Phoenix also plays four games, all against teams currently in a playoff seed, including Eastern Conference opponents Montreal and Ottawa. Phoenix starts the segment with a back-to-back set at Dallas and then home for Montreal (March 5-6) … Los Angeles hosts a three-game homestand this segment, all against Canadian teams (Ottawa, Montreal, and Vancouver).
