The Nashville Predators announced Monday that they have recalled defenseman Shea Weber from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League and have placed center Scott Nichol on injured reserve.
Weber, a 6'3", 213-pound blueliner in his first professional season, has posted one assist and logged an average of 12-and-a-half minutes per game in four appearances with Nashville this season. In 41 games with the Predators' top minor-league affiliate in Milwaukee, the 20-year-old has 11 goals, 14 assists, 40 penalty minutes and a +1 rating.
Nichol, who suffered a concussion when he fell and collided into the end boards during the Feb. 1 match against Dallas, has missed two games as a result of his injury. The 5'8", 173-pound center, who has one assist, 28 penalty minutes and a 56.6 percent face-off win ratio in 15 games this season, has been placed on IR retroactive to the date of the injury and is still expected to be cleared to play later this week.
