Weber, Hamhuis at Canada Olympic Camp

Preds defensemen Dan Hamhuis and Shea Weber are attending Hockey Canada's Olympic Orientation Camp this week in Calgary. Hamhuis and Weber are among 45 players participating in the Camp, including 16 defensemen. Hamhuis is in Red Group, while Weber is in White Group. Click here for a full roster of participants.


The camp will culminate with a Red/White scrimmage game on Thursday night (Aug. 27).

USA Hockey held its Olympic Orientation Camp last week with defenseman Ryan Suter representing the Predators at the Camp. Fellow defensemen Robert Dietrich (Germany), Roman Josi (Switzerland), and Alexander Sulzer (Germany) are also under consideration for their national Olympic teams. Goaltender Pekka Rinne is on Team Finland's list of players under consideration for the Finnish Olympic Team. Forwards Martin Erat (Czech Republic), Patric Hornqvist (Sweden), Marcel Goc (Germany), Peter Olvecky (Slovakia), Antti Pihlstrom (Finland) and Alexander Radulov (Russia) are listed on the shortlists for their respective national Olympic teams.
