Already nominated for the Norris Trophy as the League's best defenseman, P.K. Subban could hear his name called twice at the NHL Awards in June.
The Nashville blueliner was named the Predators nominee for the 2018 King Clancy Memorial Trophy, awarded annually "to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community." Subban was nominated by the Predators organization.
While his work at both the Montreal Children's Hospital and Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt has already been well documented during his NHL career, Subban stepped up with a new initiative in the 2017-18 season,
P.K.'s Blueline Buddies.

The program came in response to Subban's desire to make a difference in his community, bridging the gap between those who call Nashville home. During every Predators home game, Subban hosts a member of the Metro Nashville Police Department and their guest with a mentor or representative from a local organization and an underprivileged youth.
Subban takes care of the game tickets, dinner and meets with the group prior to and after the game in an effort to give the two parties a glimpse into each other's lives. With everything Subban does, the program has become a rousing success, and it has even been featured nationally on CBS This Morning, as well as landing Subban as a guest on "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah."
From the NHL, "The winner will be selected by a committee of senior NHL executives led by Commissioner Gary Bettman and Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly. The King Clancy Memorial Trophy winner will receive a $40,000 donation from the National Hockey League Foundation to benefit a charity or charities of the winner's choice and the two runners-up will each receive a $5,000 donation from the National Hockey League Foundation to benefit a charity or charities of their choice."
The three finalists for King Clancy Memorial Trophy will be announced on April 30, while the winner will be revealed on June 20, during the 2018 NHL Awards at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. In addition to Subban's nomination, Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne has been nominated for the Vezina Trophy as the League's top netminder.
