What a week!
Thanksgiving weekend may not have gone as planned for the Nashville Predators (more on that later), but there was still plenty of news to come out of Smashville over the last several days.
After dropping a 3-0 decision to the Red Wings in Detroit on Wednesday, the Preds returned home for an unexpectedly lengthy five-day stretch with no games.

"We missed the games this weekend," forward Michael McCarron said after practice on Monday, referring to the games scheduled for Friday and Saturday that were postponed due to a water main break near Bridgestone Arena. "It was obviously sad because there was a lot of family in town for a lot of guys here that weren't able to see games. I'm very grateful for the people that have been working 24 hours a day to get [Bridgestone Arena] up and running for us because I want to get back on the ice and play some hockey."
On the plus side, the extended break meant more practice time for the team ahead of Tuesday's home game against the Anaheim Ducks, which will be played as scheduled. Before the puck drops, let's take a look back at the week that was in Smashville:

Water Under the Bridge

A water main break was reported on Sixth Avenue at 6 a.m. CT Friday, flooding the main concourse and event level at Bridgestone Arena. Metro Public Works worked with arena staff to get the situation under control quickly, but the water caused damage to the floors, ceilings and tiles inside the arena, sitting up to three feet high in some areas.
Friday's scheduled game between the Predators and the Colorado Avalanche was postponed due to the flooding. Saturday's game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets was also postponed, with make-up dates for both games yet to be announced.
Thanks to the efforts of operations staff, custodial crews and countless others inside and outside the Predators organization, Bridgestone Arena is set to reopen its doors in time to host Tuesday's matchup with the Ducks as scheduled. While some of the arena's systems and guest support functions may not be 100 percent operational for Tuesday's game or Friday's Maren Morris concert, Predators President and Chief Executive Officer Sean Henry is steadfast in the organization's appreciation for everyone's efforts in getting the building as prepared as possible.
"We can not say thank you enough to everyone that has worked tirelessly to restore Bridgestone Arena and ready it for Preds games and events once again. More than 30 public agencies and private companies have mobilized with us in our mission to safely reopen the venue for games and events this week," Henry said.
"We had a great schedule for Thanksgiving weekend with expectations of hosting 40,000 fans for the three hockey games, but unfortunately, we were unable to open our doors. We look forward to hosting 17,000 of hockey's best fans on Tuesday for our game with the Anaheim Ducks and we thank everyone for their patience as we continue with the restoration."

Milwaukee Admirals Update

Preds prospects Egor Afanasyev (2g-1a) and Marcus Nurmi (1g-2a) tallied three points apiece for the Milwaukee Admirals as the Predators American Hockey League affiliate outlasted the Rockford IceHogs 5-3 on Saturday. The win was revenge for the Admirals, who fell to the IceHogs on Friday in Rockford to snap their four-game win streak.
The Admirals (12-5-0) currently sit atop the AHL's Central Division and are currently ranked sixth in the league. Cole Schneider (8g-5a) scored his team-leading eighth goal in Saturday's win, and Tommy Novak (7g-10a) paces the team with 17 points.
