The Ravenwood Raptors are the favorite going in to the semifinals, finishing the season with a record of 18-1-2. Ravenwood is out to avenge last year’s championship loss to Brentwood and returned the majority of the players from last season, however the Raptors first have to face Centennial in Wednesday night's semifinals.
The Raptors have a high-powered and balanced offense with 12 players scoring at least 10 points; three players have scored over 40 points this season. Corbin Pefanis led the team in goals, 21, and tied for the lead in assists with Nathan Traczewski, 26. Traczewski also added 16 goals to his point total. Taylor Griffin finished with exactly 40 points, 16 goals and 24 assists.Brentwood
The Brentwood Bruins are the defending Preds Cup Champions, but finished second in the Gold Division standings behind Ravenwood. However, the Bruins were the only team to defeat Ravenwood during the regular season. Brentwood defeated Montgomery Bell Academy, 4-1, on February 27, to move into the final four of the tournament where they will face Father Ryan. Brentwood won the season series two games to one this season, all three games decided by two goals or less.
The Bruins had 10 players finish the season in double digits with points. Nathan Lee, forward, finished the regular season with 13 goals and 17 assists to lead the team in points, while Garrett Elmore ended the season with 21 goals. Centennial
The Centennial Cougars may be lowest seed of the remaining teams but Derek Lyle, forward, has been a constant threat against all teams in the Gold Division. Lyle finished leading the division in points (53), goals (31) and finished fourth overall in assists (20).
Centennial will face Ravenwood in the semifinals on Wednesday. Centennial lost two and tied one against the Raptors this season.Father Ryan
Father Ryan High School defeated Hendersonville High School 4-2 in the opening round of the tournament last week. Father Ryan takes on Brentwood in the semifinals of the Predators Cup.
Out of the final four teams remaining, the Fighting Irish are the underdog but spread the points around. There are eight players who have more than 10 points and Andrew Mueller who had 13 goals and 13 assists, leads the team.
