Radulov Leads Russia Past USA, Rinne Posts Another Strong Start for Finland

Pekka Rinne stopped 17-of-18 shots through overtime, but Team Finland was unable to provide enough offensive support as Belarus upset Finland 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday night, the first loss of the tournament for the Finns. With the overtime point Finland secured a spot in the Medal Round.

In other action on Saturday, Alexander Radulov scored a goal and an assist to lead Russia to a 4-1 win over the United States. The US opened the scored 3:16 into the game on Lee Stempniak's goal, but Radulov assisted on Oleg Saprykin's power-play marker 1:45 later. The Russians added another power-play goal at the 9:51 mark of the first period and extended their lead to 3-1 with 3:54 left in the opening frame. Radulov added a power-play goal 1:36 into the second period to close out the scoring. With the win Russia secured the top spot in Group E and a No. 1 seed in the Medal Round.
