Two preseason picks to be Stanley Cup Finalists meet tonight (at 6 p.m. CT) in Toronto when the Preds visit the Maple Leafs.
The Predators (25-15-3) have picked up points in their first two stops of a season-long, six-game road trip, including a 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. Center Colton Sissons returned for the contest against the Habs after missing the six previous games due to injury. Up next on the injury front for Nashville should be the return of Filip Forsberg (Injured Reserve) and Yannick Weber (IR) in the offing.
Toronto (27-12-2) is the talk of Canada, featuring four major scorers (Mitch Marner, John Tavares, Morgan Rielly and Auston Matthews) all averaging more than a point per game. The Maple Leafs won their last game, 5-0, over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.
The Preds held a full morning skate on Monday at Scotiabank Arena and were joined by Forsberg and Weber. Miikka Salomaki (upper-body; day-to-day) was absent.
Update: Filip Forsberg has been activated from Injured Reserve. In addition, Miikka Salomaki has been placed on Injured Reserve with an upper-body injury.
Below is a projected lineup based on the session:
