Projected Lineup: Canadiens vs. Predators

Former Preds Captain Weber Makes First Return to Nashville; Preds Without Subban

by Thomas Willis @TomAWillis / Digital Manager & Producer

The former captain of the Preds, Shea Weber, makes his first return to Nashville when the Montreal Canadiens visit the Nashville Predators (tonight at 7 p.m. CT).

Traded for P.K. Subban on June 29, 2016, Weber was with the Nashville organization for the initial 10 years of his career. Tonight, he returns with the Canadiens, who are making stop No. 5 in a seven-game road trip (to make room for the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship). Weber won't be going head-to-head with trading partner, Subban, as the Preds blueliner was placed on Injured Reserve and is expected to miss the next two to three weeks. Still, Preds General Manager David Poile expects Weber's return to be filled with emotion.

"Am I looking forward to seeing Shea and watching him play? Absolutely," Poile said. "I think it's going to be emotional for so many people, including myself, to have him back in our building."

Nashville held an optional morning skate on Tuesday; below is a projected lineup based on Monday's practice:
