The Nashville Predators made their first two recalls of the season prior to starting a three-game homestand Saturday night.
The Preds (4-3-0)
brought forwards
Miikka Salomaki and Yakov Trenin up from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and assigned forward Daniel Carr. With Filip Forsberg day-to-day with a lower-body injury, it remains to be seen if both Salomaki and Trenin will suit up for the Predators this evening. If Trenin plays, it will be his NHL debut.
Nashville ended their three-game road trip on a sour note, falling 5-2 to the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. Forsberg missed the contest due to injury.
Tonight's visitor in Music City, the Florida Panthers (2-2-3), fell yesterday at home as the Colorado Avalanche prevailed 5-4 in overtime.
Salomaki and Trenin were both present for Saturday's full morning skate at Bridgestone Arena. Forsberg did not participate. Below is a Preds projected lineup based on the session:
