The Predators will play eight of their next 12 games at home after returning from an eight-game road trip with a 4-3-1 record.
Tonight, Nashville (14-17-1) will take on Detroit (10-18-4). The Preds and Wings have split their four meetings so far this season. The Predators can move within two points of fourth in the Central Division and the final playoff spot with a victory and a Blackhawks' regulation loss this evening.
The Preds held a full morning skate on Tuesday and were joined by Mikael Granlund, who missed Sunday's game with an upper-body injury, and Roman Josi (Injured Reserve). Nashville Head Coach John Hynes mentioned earlier in the week that Matt Duchene, Ryan Ellis, Luke Kunin and Josi have resumed skating, but all are still on Injured Reserve and Ellis, specifically, is not close to a return.
The Wings have won two out of their last three games but fell on Saturday against Dallas.
Tuesday Evening Update: The Preds have activated defenseman Roman Josi off Injured Reserve and recalled forward Michael McCarron and defenseman Alexandre Carrier from the taxi squad. They have reassigned defenseman Jeremy Davies to the taxi squad.
Below is Predators projected lineup based on Tuesday's morning skate:
