Ford Ice Center to Host U.S. Figure Skating Regional Championships

Event Runs from Oct. 18-22 in Antioch; Scott Hamilton to Appear Friday

Nashville, Tenn. (October 17, 2017) - Ford Ice Center, in partnership with the Scott Hamilton Skating Club, will host the U.S. Figure Skating Eastern Great Lakes Regional Championships this week, with qualifying events scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 8 a.m. CT.

Additionally, Olympic champion and longtime Franklin, Tennessee, resident Scott Hamilton and his 1984 Winter Olympics Gold Medal will be at Ford Ice Center on Friday, Oct. 20. Fans will be able to take photos with Hamilton and his gold medal from 12-1 and 2-3 p.m. CT in the main lobby for a $10 donation to the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation. Hamilton will be available to the media at Ford Ice Center on Friday at 1 p.m. CT.

"I'm so proud of the dedication of our skating club in its preparation to host skaters from all over our region in the first qualifying competition of the 2018 Olympic year," said Hamilton, who in addition to his Olympic title won four consecutive World Championships from 1981-84. "I know it will be a memorable time for the skaters, officials, skating club, organizing committee and the staff of the Ford Ice Center."

Preds Recall Frederick Gaudreau; Place Yannick Weber on IR

Nashville, Tenn. (October 17, 2017) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Tuesday that the club has recalled forward Frederick Gaudreau from the American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals. The team has also placed defenseman Yannick Weber on Injured Reserve.

Through three games with the Admirals, Gaudreau is tied for the team lead in assists (3) and points (4) after posting 48 points (25g-23a) in 66 games with Milwaukee last season. The Bromont, Quebec, native made his NHL debut on Oct. 22, 2016 versus Pittsburgh and appeared in nine games with the Predators in 2016-17, recording an assist. The 6-foot, 179-pound center was a crucial part of Nashville's run to the Stanley Cup Final last season as he scored three goals in eight games and posted a +2 rating. He became the first player since Chicago's John Harms in 1944 to score the first three goals (regular season and playoffs) of his NHL career in the Stanley Cup Final.

Never drafted, Gaudreau tallied 50 goals, 84 assists and 134 points in three seasons with the QMJHL's Shawinigan Cataractes and Drummondville Voltigeurs, winning the Memorial Cup in 2012. He has 105 points (45g-60a) in 187 career AHL games with the Admirals.

A few thousand votes poured in. Then a few thousand more. Then another thousand or two.

One for the adjunct professor, one for the nurse, one for the music teacher and one for the accountant: four finalists who formed an unlikely pairing after they were selected from hundreds of other submissions. As the voting totals swelled past 10,000 one thing became clear - there couldn't be just one winner.

That's why, the Nashville Predators are thrilled to announce their search for an anthem singer won't stop at one, but instead will bestow the honor to all four finalists. As their varied occupations and backgrounds indicate, the four singers will each bring something unique to Smashville during the 2017-18 season.

Opening Night presented by Nissan will see the Preds take on the Philadelphia Flyers as fans are welcomed fans back into Smashville for the raising of the Western Conference Champion banner!

Everyone is encouraged to arrive early and experience the Plaza Party presented by Lee Company starting at 3 p.m. and watch the Nashville Predators players celebrate opening night in style on the Gold walk from 3:45 - 5 p.m. Players will greet Smashville's passionate fans and walk across the stage at Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge for their 57th Annual Birthday Bash before heading to the plaza and into Bridgestone Arena. Once inside the building, fans can walk the concourse to view the 7th Man banner and spot 6,000 Smashvillian names, including Season-Ticket Citizens, Preds players, coaches and staff.

Preds Sign Harry Zolnierczyk

Forward Appeard in 24 Games with Nashville in 2016-17

Nashville, Tenn. (October 4, 2017) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile today announced that the club has signed forward Harry Zolnierczyk to a one-year, two-way contract that will pay him $650,000 at the NHL level and $150,000 at the AHL level.

Zolnierczyk, 30 (9/1/87), played in 24 games for the Predators last season, tallying four points (2g-2a). The Toronto, Ont., native then added a goal and two assists in 11 playoff games during Nashville's run to the Stanley Cup Final. In 84 career NHL games with Nashville, Anaheim, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Zolnierczyk has recorded seven goals and six assists for 13 points. He's produced 150 points (70g-80a) at the AHL level, including back-to-back 18-goal seasons in 2013-14 and 2014-15, and helped Wilkes-Barre/Scranton reach the 2014 Eastern Conference Final, posting 10 points (3g-7a) in 17 games.

Never drafted, Zolnierczyk turned professional after a four-year career at Brown University, where he posted 69 points (29g-31a) in 114 games from 2007-11. As a senior, he captained the Bears and was named 2011 Ivy League Player of the Year after posting 31 points (16g-15a) in 30 games.

Predators Set Opening Night Roster

Nashville Opens 2017-18 Regular Season on Thursday in Boston

(October 3, 2017) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Tuesday that the team has assigned forwards Frederick Gaudreau and Vladislav Kamenev to the American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals. Additionally, defenseman Ryan Ellis and forward Nick Bonino have been designated non-roster.

The Predators begin the 2017-18 season - their 20th as a National Hockey League franchise - at the Boston Bruins on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. CT. A rematch of last season's Stanley Cup Final follows at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 7 as the Preds take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena. Nashville will then return home to Bridgestone Arena to host the Philadelphia Flyers and raise their Western Conference Championship banner in the home regular season opener on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. CT. Nashville, Tenn. (September 26, 2017) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile today announced that the team has assigned forward Cody Bass to the American Hockey League's Milwaukee Admirals.

The Predators will return to Bridgestone Arena this week for their final two games of the preseason schedule with both matchups set to start at 7:00 p.m. CT. The Columbus Blue Jackets come to town on Thursday, Sept. 28 and then Nashville's last game before the regular season will take place Saturday, Sept. 30 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
