Nashville, Tenn. (December 1, 2005) - Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Greg Zanon (ZA-nuhn) from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Zanon, 25 (6/5/80), has posted 11 points (2g-9a) and a team-best +7 rating in 18 games for the Admirals this season. The Burnaby, B.C. native, who wears the captain's "C" for Milwaukee, was originally signed as a free agent by Nashville on July 9, 2004 after helping the Ads capture the 2004 Calder Cup with a league-best +10 rating in the post-season.
The Predators' roster stands at 23 with two players (Scott Nichol and Scott Walker) on injured reserve.
Zanon looks to make his NHL debut tonight when the Predators (15-4-3) host the Minnesota Wild (10-10-3) at 7:00 p.m. CT at the Gaylord Entertainment Center. The game will be televised locally on FSN South and broadcast on 104.5-FM The Zone.
