Preds Recall Pihlstrom

Nashville, Tenn. (November 24, 2008) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Antti Pihlstrom from the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. Pihlstrom is expected to play his second career NHL contest tomorrow night when the Predators (10-9-1) take on the St. Louis Blues (8-8-2) at 6 p.m. CT at the Sommet Center.

Pihlstrom, 24 (10/22/84), leads Milwaukee in goals with eight, and ranks second with 12 points in 15 contests, including two goals and one assist in two games this past weekend. The 5-11, 190-pound native of Vantaa, Finland was originally signed by Nashville as a free agent on June 1, 2007, and his lone career NHL game came Dec. 15, 2008 at Colorado. In 2007-08, he led the Admirals in goals (27) and ranked fifth in points (45) in his first North American season.

Tomorrow’s early start time is due to the contest being televised to a national broadcast on VERSUS, the exclusive cable home of the National Hockey League. The game will also be available on the Predators flagship radio station –WGFX-104.5 FM The Zone.
