Nashville, Tenn. (March 6, 2010) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Cody Franson from Milwaukee (AHL) on emergency conditions.
Franson, 22 (8/8/87), played his first game since sustaining an injury in Nashville’s Feb. 2 game vs. Phoenix last night for the Admirals, posting a goal and an assist. At the time of his injury, he ranked third among NHL rookie blueliners in goals (5), and fourth in both points (15) and assists (11), in addition to ranking first among all rookies in plus/minus (+11). The Sicamous, B.C., native has suited up for the Predators 43 times during his first season.
The Predators play an NHL-high 17 games during the month of March, with the third of 10 home games coming tomorrow afternoon at Bridgestone Arena against the Vancouver Canucks (2 p.m.). It is Nashville’s lone home matinee of the 2009-10 season.
