Preds Reassign Begin & Dekanich to AHL

Nashville, Tenn. (December 18, 2010) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced tonight that the club has reassigned forward Steve Begin and goaltender Mark Dekanich to Milwaukee (AHL).


Begin, 32 (6/14/78), made his Predators debut last night in a 3-1 victory at New Jersey, and suited up again tonight against the Los Angeles Kings. Dekanich, 24 (5/10/86), made his NHL debut tonight against the Kings, stopping 22-of-25 shots in 49:59 of action. He spent seven games backing up goaltender Anders Lindback from Dec. 4-17.

The Predators look for their ninth win in their last 12 outings when they face-off against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks on Wednesday in Chicago (7:30 p.m. CT, FOX Sports Tennessee HD, 102.9 FM The Buzz). The Preds return to Smashville on Thursday to take on the Ottawa Senators (7 p.m. CT, FOX Sports Tennessee HD, 102.9 FM The Buzz). Thursday night is College Night – college students who show their student ID at the Bridgestone Arena box office will receive $10 upper level tickets or $25 lower level tickets. In conjunction with College Night, there will be half-price drink specials for all in attendance throughout the first intermission.
