Preds Prospect Colin Wilson Powers BU to NCAA Title Game

by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators
Preds prospect Colin Wilson scored the game-winning goal with 5:41 remaining in regulation of Thursday night's NCAA Frozen Four semifinal game against Vermont to lift the Boston University Terriers into the Championship Game. BU will face Miami, Ohio -- alma mater of current Preds rookie Ryan Jones -- in Saturday's title game.

Wilson opened the game's scoring 11:19 into the first period and then picked up an assist 5:08 later as BU took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Vermont scored three times in the first 9:49 of the second period to claim a 3-2 lead. BU answered with a power-play goal late in the period to tie the score, but Vermont took another one-goal lead with a power-play marker of its own midway through the third period. Boston tied the game at the 13:06 mark of the third to set the stage for Wilson's heroics 1:13 later.
