They weren't able to gather in schools and churches and community centers across the region, but members of the Predators still gave back to Middle Tennessee on Tuesday.
The Nashville Predators Foundation empowered by SmileDirectClub hosted its annual Community Relations Day - Virtual CR Day presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee 48 hours before the Preds begin the 2020-21 NHL season, and everyone on the roster took part in one of a number of video chats with local organizations dear to their hearts.

Preds Foundation, players host Virtual CR Day

Organizations like The Arc TN, Teach for America, 7Element and Seacrest Studios were just some who hosted Zoom calls throughout the afternoon and evening, still finding a way to share some smiles during a time when we could all use one.
Preds forwards Colton Sissons and Nick Cousins took part in a call with the just keep livin Foundation, an organization founded by actor Matthew McConaughey and "dedicated to empowering high school students by providing them with the tools to lead active lives and make healthy choices for a better future."
Sissons and Cousins were joined by teachers and students from Antioch High School and Maplewood High School, and the group connected for almost an hour, with the players chatting about physical and mental health, nutrition and playing hockey in a place like Nashville.
The discussion ended with what the J.K. livin Foundation likes to call a "gratitude circle" with each and every participant stating what they're grateful for.
On this occasion, the Preds were grateful to make a small difference.
"What the Preds Foundation does is so important, and it touches on a wide range of things, but they're all equally important," Sissons said. "To be able to do this, even over Zoom, it's pretty awesome to be a part of something like that and touch on physical health, mental health, different goal-setting-type stuff - it's important for young people to hear, and we just appreciate being a part of it."
