The Nashville Predators have placed forward Martin Erat
on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Saturday, October 8. Erat suffered an upper body injury during the October 7 Season Opening win at Columbus. He is listed as day-to-day, but by rule must remain on IR for a minimum of one week.
Erat skated 15:22 of ice time with one shot on goal in the Season Opener. Last season he tied for the team lead with 50 points on 17 goals and 33 assists, skating in 64 games. In 617 career NHL games, all with the Preds, Erat has posted 140 goals and 402 points.
Forwards Niclas Bergfors and Brian McGrattan
are both projected to be in the Preds lineup tonight. Forward Patric Hornqvist
is expected to miss tonight's game with a lower body injury.
The Nashville Predators kick off their home season tonight when they take on the Phoenix Coyotes (7 p.m. on SportSouth – Comcast channel 284 HD, 102.5 The Game) at Bridgestone Arena. The fun begins at 4 p.m. when all Nashville Predators players, coaches and broadcasters walk the gold carpet with select season ticketholders. After the carpet walk, a plaza party begins will take place up until game time. All those in attendance at Thursday’s game will receive a free opening night t-shirt courtesy of Nissan.
