The Preds Amateur & Youth Hockey staff recently wrapped up the 10th Annual Nashville Predators Hockey School presented by Delta Dental of Tennessee. The fun-filled week-long camp, which aimed to teach on-ice skills, off-ice conditioning and team building exercises, was held July 13-17, 2009 at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, the official practice facility of the Preds.
Youth hockey players and goaltenders ages 7-11 from the Nashville area as well as players from neighboring southeastern states were challenged daily on-ice instruction led by hockey school veteran, Preds Video Coach Robert Bouchard. In addition to daily on-ice sessions, the days were rounded out with off-ice training featuring Preds Strength and Conditioning Coach David Good. Throughout the week guest instructors included Preds defenseman Alexander Sulzer, defenseman prospect Cody Franson, goaltender prospect Mark Dekanich, radio play-by-play Tom Callahan and team mascot Gnash.
The Nashville Predators Hockey School was created to offer youth hockey players of all skill levels the opportunity to log quality ice time during the summer alongside members of the Nashville Predators.
Later this summer the Preds will host the sold out 3rd Annual Little Preds Hockey School, a week long evening camp designed for beginner kids ages 4-7 at A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin.
Information on the Nashville Predators 2010 Summer Hockey Schools will be announced in the fall. For information on youth hockey programs offered by the Preds, please click here
