Preds Development Camp Opens

by Jay Levin / Nashville Predators
Preds prospects reported to the team's 2009 Development Camp today for introductory meetings and physicals. The prospects first session will take place tomorrow morning with conditioning testing. The first on-ice sessions will take place Wednesday morning at Centennial Sportsplex.

In addition to the four members of last year's Milwaukee Admirals squad (Teemu Laakso, Ian McKenzie, Mark Santorelli, and Nick Spaling), this year's camp features six sets of Junior teammates, including three sets of college teammates (University of Minnesota's Ryan Flynn and incoming freshman Zach Budish, Notre Dame's Ben Ryan and Ryan Thang, and University of Wisconsin's Blake Geoffrion and incoming freshman Craig Smith), the Guelph (OHL) duo of 2009 draftees Taylor Beck and Michael Latta, the Team Canada World Junior Championships pair of 2008 First Round Pick Chet Pickard and 2009 First Round Pick Ryan Ellis, and the Team USA World Junior Championships duo of 2007 First Round Pick Jonathon Blum and 2008 First Round Pick Colin Wilson (teammates at the last two World Junior Championships -- Blake Geoffrion also joined them on Team USA two years ago).
