Preds announce preseason schedule

Nashville, Tenn. - Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced Thursday that the Predators will open their 2006 preseason schedule against the Central Division rival Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday, September 17 at 5:00 p.m. CDT at Nationwide Arena.

Nashville's six-game preseason schedule, featuring two tilts against the 2006 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes, includes two home games at the Gaylord Entertainment Center: Saturday, September 23 vs. the Hurricanes (7:00 p.m.) and Saturday, September 30 vs. the Atlanta Thrashers (7:00 p.m.). The Predators will also host a game vs. Columbus on Thursday, September 21 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis Tenn., home of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies.

The 2005-06 Nashville Predators are scheduled to open training camp on Thursday, September 14 with testing and physicals at the Gaylord Entertainment Center. The Predators' first day on the ice will be Friday, September 15 at the Centennial Sportsplex. The 2006-07 NHL regular-season schedule will be announced later this month.
