/ Nashville Predators
Nashville, Tenn. (September 22, 2008) – The Nashville Predators announced today several new Sommet Center features as part of ownership’s goal to further enhance the venue and improve the overall fan experience at Predators home games. The additions include elements for all, from businesses looking to entertain clients, to the casual fan attending his first hockey game. Included in the enhancements will be more concession and point-of-sale locations with more variety, new faster credit card-processing equipment and cash-only designated lines all with the goal of decreasing wait time throughout the arena.
“We conducted extensive research and these changes reflect the feedback we received – fans wanted more options faster,” Predators President of Business Operations Ed Lang said. “We want games to be the best possible fan experience regardless of where you are in the building.”
“All-Inclusive Zone Table Tops” These exclusive, bar-style granite tables have plush seating for four, and are located in the attack-twice zone, just above the arena’s lower bowl. Each table comes equipped with a personal flat-screen television monitor, in-seat food and beverage service, and priority to purchase the table for other non-hockey Sommet Center events if available. The All-Inclusive Zone Table Tops function like a mini-suite and are sold on a multi-year basis.
“All You Can Eat Seats” Formerly known as the Family Fun Zone, the new All You Can Eat Seats are located in sections 320-322 and offer fans a seat, and unlimited trips to the concession stand in one ticket. Tailored for group sales and individual-game tickets, the free foods offered to ticketholders in this section include nachos, popcorn, peanuts, hot dogs and fountain drinks in addition to a rotation of specialty items such as Italian sausages, bratwursts, and barbeque.
“The FSN Zone” Located outside section 104, this area is being remodeled with a permanent bar, flat-screen high-definition televisions, and tabletop seating. The FSN Zone will create a sports bar-type atmosphere on the main concourse and will also have an area capable of hosting Predators post-game shows and other related sports programming. The bar will be open to all patrons for the majority of events held at the Sommet Center.
Suite Upgrades All 72 Sommet Center suites will be equipped with flat-screen, high-definition televisions and obstruction-free safety glass installed to improve sightlines.
In-arena partnership with Smurfit-Stone to "Go Green" The Nashville Predators, the Sommet Center and Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation are partnering to recycling and waste reduction throughout the facility. New for the 2008-09 season, the Sommet Center will be equipped with Smurfit-Stone recycling stations for plastics, paper and aluminum. The arena, and its concession partners Sports Service and Levy Restaurants will also utilize more products like cups, napkins and plates that are made from recyclable and compostable materials.
Also in an attempt to move toward a “paperless” business environment, the Predators and Sommet Center will increase the use of electronic forms and manuals including the team’s 2008-09 media guide in addition to suite-holder guides, menus and order forms, further reducing their dependence on paper products.
