-Gross recognized for service to members of the National Guard and Reserve-
Nashville, Tenn. (August 25, 2011) – The Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena would like to congratulate Director of Security Billy “Sarge” Gross on being honored with the Patriot Award. The award was presented to Gross this morning by Bob Beatty, a representative from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Gross was honored with this award for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve force.
“Bridgestone Arena has been employing National Guard, Reserve and Veterans for a long time because it is just the right thing to do,” Gross said. “Above all, the veterans support us; they make the ultimate sacrifice for us, so we want to make sure that we open our positions to them and preserve their jobs while serving. These great folks are also outstanding employees who are incredibly disciplined, passionate and are natural leaders, making their employment a win for everyone.”
“The Patriot Award is given out to employers that employ and support National Guard, Reserves and Veterans from the state of Tennessee,” Bridgestone Arena and Nashville Predators President Sean Henry said. “’Sarge’ has been instrumental in spearheading this program and he is incredibly worthy of the recognition bestowed on him today. The patriotic men and women who serve in the National Guard and Reserve deserve support from every aspect of their communities, and we are honored to do our part. We are appreciative and proud of ‘Sarge’ for implementing such an important program for our local service men and women.”
