Predators Send 7 To Milwaukee

-With 20 forwards, eight defensemen and three goalies, roster sits at 31-

Nashville, Tenn. (September 29, 2008) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Ryan Maki and Ian McKenzie, defenseman Robert Dietrich and goaltender Mark Dekanich to Milwaukee of the American Hockey League. Additionally, forward Stephen Werner and defensemen Scott Ford and Mark Matheson were released from professional tryouts, but will go to Milwaukee on AHL contracts.

A total of 20 forwards – including injured players Jed Ortmeyer and Steve Sullivan – eight defensemen and three goaltenders remain in camp.

Players by position currently participating in camp are as follows:
Forwards (20): Jason Arnott, Radek Bonk, J.P. Dumont, Martin Erat, Vernon Fiddler, Triston Grant, Josh Gratton, Patric Hornqvist, Ryan Jones, David Legwand, Scott Nichol, Cal O’Reilly, Jed Ortmeyer, Rich Peverley, Antti Pihlstrom, Michael Ryan, Jerred Smithson, Steve Sullivan, Jordin Tootoo and Joel Ward.
Defensemen (8): Greg de Vries, Dan Hamhuis, Kevin Klein, Ville Koistinen, Alexander Sulzer, Ryan Suter, Shea Weber and Greg Zanon.
Goaltenders (3): Dan Ellis, Drew MacIntyre and Pekka Rinne.

The Predators will practice Monday, Sept. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Centennial Sportsplex. On Thursday, Oct. 2, Nashville (1-2-0) will play its third and final home preseason game against the Carolina Hurricanes (0-3-0). Game time is slated for 7 p.m. at the Sommet Center.
