Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that goaltender Pekka Rinne has been recalled from his weekend conditioning assignment with Milwaukee (AHL). After missing 51 games, the two-time Vezina Trophy finalist is expected to start when Nashville takes on the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow night (7 p.m. CT, FOX Sports Tennessee, 102.5 The Game).
Rinne, 31 (11/3/82), stopped 33-of-35 shots against to post a 0.99 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage in a pair of games with the Admirals last weekend, winning both starts. In his last five NHL games prior to his injury, Rinne was 3-1-1 with a 1.60 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage – turning away 120-of-128 shots in those contests.
