Predators Recall Four Players, Two Coaches from Milwaukee

Nashville, Tenn. (December 16, 2021) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the team has recalled forwards Cody Glass, Rocco Grimaldi, Mathieu Olivier and Cole Smith from Milwaukee (AHL). Additionally, Admirals Head Coach Karl Taylor and Assistant Coach Scott Ford will serve behind the bench for the Predators in tonight's game against the Colorado Avalanche.
The moves come after it was announced yesterday that forwards Mikael Granlund, Ryan Johansen, Matt Luff, Michael McCarron and Philip Tomasino; defenseman Ben Harpur; Head Coach John Hynes; Assistant Coaches Dan Lambert and Todd Richards; and Goaltending Coach Ben Vanderklok were on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list.

Glass, 22 (4/1/99), leads Milwaukee in assists (15) and is second in points (19) through 21 AHL contests this season. Among all AHL skaters, the 6-foot-2, 206-pound forward is tied for seventh in assists and tied for 15th in points. Glass currently owns a four-game point streak (3g-2a) at the AHL level; he appeared in two NHL games for the Predators to begin 2021-22.
Grimaldi, 28 (2/8/93), has 13 points (8g-5a) in 14 games with the Admirals this season and has posted points in each of his last five appearances (3g-3a). The 5-foot-6, 180-pound forward began the campaign with the Predators and skated in five games, with his most recent appearance coming on Nov. 7 at Chicago. Grimaldi has posted 67 points (30g-37a) in 201 career NHL games.
Olivier, 24 (2/11/97), has two points (1g-1a) in his last two AHL games for Milwaukee, boosting his season totals to four points (2g-2a) in 14 contests. Olivier, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of Biloxi, Miss., posted one assist in five games with Nashville from Nov. 10-20. He's skated in 43 career NHL contests, recording seven points (3g-4a) and 86 penalty minutes.
Smith, 26 (10/28/95), is tied for fifth on Milwaukee in points with 12 (5g-7a) in 20 games. He extended his point streak to four games (1g-3a) with an assist on Tuesday at Iowa, matching his longest such streak of the 2021-22 season. The Brainerd, Minn., native made his NHL debut in Nashville's 2020-21 season opener on Jan. 14, 2021 vs. Columbus.
