Nashville, Tenn. (July 1, 2016) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Friday that the club has signed forward Harry Zolnierczyk to a one-year contract worth $575,000 at the NHL level and $150,000 at the AHL level in 2016-17.
Zolnierczyk, 28 (9/1/87), has appeared in 60 NHL contests with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, the New York Islanders and Anaheim since the 2011-12 season, notching nine points (5g-4a) and 257 AHL games with Adirondack, Norfolk, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Bridgeport and San Diego since 2010-11, amassing 134 points (64g-70a). The 5-foot-11, 181-pound native of Toronto posted back-to-back 18-goal seasons in the American Hockey League in 2013-14 and 2014-15, and helped Wilkes-Barre/Scranton reach the 2014 Eastern Conference Final, posting 10 points (3g-7a) in 17 games.
Never drafted, Zolnierczyk turned professional after a four-year career at Brown University, where he posted 69 points (29g-31a) in 114 games from 2007-11. As a senior, he captained the Bears and was named 2011 Ivy League Player of the Year after posting 31 points (16g-15a) in 30 games.
