Predators Have Heavy Hearts as Barb Murphy Retires

by Press Release / Nashville Predators

Nashville, Tenn. (September 19, 2016) – After long discussions with Barb Murphy and her agent, it is with a heavy heart that the Nashville Predators and Fifth Third Bank announce her retirement from hockey effective immediately. Barb has been the heart and soul of this organization for the past two years. No one supported the team more than Barb - seriously, she was everywhere. We wish Barb the best with her future endeavor of becoming a motivational speaker.

“The Nashville Predators are forever grateful to Barb Murphy and the time she invested in our team,” Nashville Predators Executive Vice President and CRO Chris Junghans said. “Her dedication was unmatched and the next Seventh Man has big shoes to fill.”

“What will we miss about Barb Murphy the most? Her energy and enthusiasm, or will it be her super-human ability to multitask like no other?” said Hal Clemmer, regional president for Fifth Third Bank Tennessee. “Barb Murphy has been a loyal and dynamic representative of our company for the past two years and she will be missed.”

With Barb’s departure from the organization, the Nashville Predators and Fifth Third Bank are accepting applicants to be the next Seventh Man. Show us why you deserve to be the next seventh man by posting a photo of your best game face on Twitter, Instagram with the hashtag #53Preds7thman to be entered to win.
