Nashville, Tenn. (April 21, 2016) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Thursday that the club has assigned defenseman Alex Carrier to Milwaukee (AHL).
Carrier, 19 (10/8/96), recently completed his fourth season with the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques, tying for sixth among league defensemen points (12g-35a-47pts), ranking seventh among blueliners in assists and tying for seventh in goals. The Quebec City, Que., native ranked third in points (12g-43a-55pts), tied for second in assists and tied for 10th in goals among QMJHL defensemen in 2014-15, being named to the 2015 QMJHL Second All-Star Team. The 5-foot-11, 174-pound Carrier was Nashville's fourth choice, 115th overall (fourth round), in the 2015 Entry Draft.
The Nashville Predators continue their best-of-seven series against the Anaheim Ducks tonight in Game Four of the First Round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs (7 p.m. on FOX Sports Tennessee and 102.5 The Game). Nashville enters the contest with a 2-1 series lead and will head back to Anaheim for Game 5 this Saturday, April 23 (time and broadcast info TBD).
