Predators Agree to Terms with Forward Triston Grant

Nashville, Tenn. (June 8, 2009) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Triston Grant on a one-year, two-way contract worth $500,000 on the NHL level and $60,000 on the American Hockey League level. He will also receive a $30,000 signing bonus.
Grant, 25 (2/2/84), posted 11 points (3g-8a) and a team-high 153 penalty minutes in 55 games with the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) in 2008-09, his first season in the Nashville organization. The 6-1, 210-pound right wing also ranked third on the Admirals in plus/minus rating (+11) and was one of just four AHLers to post more than 150 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating in double digits.
Acquired by the Predators from Philadelphia on June 24, 2008 along with a seventh-round selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft for defenseman Janne Niskala, the Neepawa, Man., native has played in 252 career AHL games with Milwaukee and the Philadelphia Phantoms over the past four seasons, notching 48 points (20g-28a) and 723 penalty minutes. He also appeared in eight NHL contests with the Flyers in 2006-07.
