Practice Day Report: April 9

by Doug Brumley / Nashville Predators
With load in for Tuesday night’s All for the Hall concert under way at Bridgestone Arena, the Nashville Predators spent Monday at their practice facility at Centennial Sportsplex. Absent from practice were regulars Alexander Radulov, Hal Gill and Brandon Yip; Anders Lindback remained out as well but goaltender Jeremy Smith was an addition to the roster—having been recalled from Milwaukee to fill in—and manned the net opposite that of Pekka Rinne. Predators head coach Barry Trotz termed Radulov’s absence as a “maintenance” day.

“Just a little bit of maintenance,” Trotz said. “He will be on the ice tomorrow. All three, I expect.” He confirmed the same expectation for Lindback as well.

Trotz said he was pleased with the fast-paced session, saying he thought the team accomplished what it wanted to accomplish Monday. The team used both rinks at Centennial Sportsplex, spending the first half of practice conducting line drills on one rink and finishing up with power play work on the other.

“We want to keep the pace and the rhythm a lot better,” Trotz said. “With the numbers that we have, one rink just can’t hold up for an hour practice.”
