Pickard, WHL to Face Russian Select Team

Preds prospect Chet Pickard, the first goaltender selected in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, will be a member of the WHL select team that will face Team Russia on Wednesday and Thursday night as part of the ADT Canada/Russia Challenge. Wednesday night's game will be in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and Thursday night's contest will be held in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.


Pickard is expected to split the goaltending duties for the WHL team.

Pickard is 13-7-2 with a 2.79 goals against average and .903 save percentage in 22 appearance for Tri-Cities this season. After a slow start to the season, Pickard has improved his play during November and has turned aside 83 of 87 shots over his last three starts (.954 save percentage, 1.34 goals against average).
