by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators
Preds prospect Chet Pickard made 16 saves in Team WHL's 5-0 shutout win over the Russian select team on Wednesday night in Game 5 of the ADT Canada/Russia Challenge. The two teams will rematch on Thursday night.

Pickard, the first goaltender selected in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, made seven saves in the first period, four in the second, and five in the third for the first shutout in this year's Challenge Series. Team WHL scored four power-play goals, including a pair of man-advantage scores by Jordan Eberle. Eberle also picked up an assist to finish with three points in the game. Zach Boychuk, Matt Calvert, and Tyler Ennis also netted goals for Team WHL, while defenseman Thomas Hickey chipped in with three assists.
