Perfect Weather, Full Field Highlight '11 Preds Foundation Golf Celebrity Golf Classic
/ Nashville Predators
The weather was ideal, the golfers packed the course, and the cause was great.
Just a few reasons why the event was a success.
The Nashville Predators/Brent Peterson Celebrity Golf Classic presented by First Tennessee Bank, Franklin American Mortgage and PEAK Performance was held today at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Morning and afternoon flights were featured and 250 golfers participated. The event benefitted the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson’s and the Nashville Predators Foundation.
As is his nature, Peterson, who was diagnosed with the disease several years ago, was focused mostly on the event running smoothly and making sure everyone had a good time.
“We make sure they have fun, lots of food and good prizes,” Peterson said. “We also make sure it doesn’t run six hours. We try to keep it under four and half hours. It’s hard to do that but we try.”
On-course challenges included a putting contest and a long-drive contest.
In previous years, the Predators and Peterson held separate golf events. This year, however, was the first time they were merged.
The golf classic wrapped up two days of exciting events centered around the Peterson Foundation and the Nashville Predators Foundation. On Thursday night, Peterson’s annual dinner was held at Bridgestone Arena and brought a record crowd of 940.
