Nashville, Tenn. (January 16, 2010) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned center Cal O’Reilly to Milwaukee (AHL). O’Reilly was recalled on Jan. 8 under emergency conditions for forward Jason Arnott, so must be sent back to the Admirals as soon as Arnott is ready to return to the lineup.
O’Reilly, 23 (9/30/86), posted three assists in four games during his most recent stint in the NHL, including his first career multi-point/assist performance on Tuesday at Edmonton. He played 15-plus minutes in three of the four games after doing so only twice in nine previous games in 2009-10. The Toronto, Ont., native has four assists in 13 games for Nashville this season. O’Reilly is scheduled to appear in his second consecutive 2010 AHL All-Star Classic on Monday and Tuesday in Portland, Maine after amassing 26 assists and 35 points in 31 games for Milwaukee this season.
Fresh off a three-game sweep of Western Canada’s three teams, the Predators return to Sommet Center ice on Monday night at 7 p.m. to host the Toronto Maple Leafs for only the third time in franchise history (FOX Sports Tennessee, WGFX-104.5 The Zone).
