As a Swedish sports broadcaster, Ida Björnstad was no stranger to the world of hockey when she met now-fiancé, Predators defenseman Mattias Ekholm. Putting her career on hold, Björnstad moved to the United States to join Ekholm and start a family in Nashville.
Upon entering the inner-circle of Preds significant others, she quickly realized how many unique perspectives on life in the NHL were being overlooked. Joining forces with Julie Turris, wife of Predators center Kyle Turris, the two women set out to share these untold stories, and the podcast Off Ice With Ida & Julie was born.

With 17 episodes in their first season, the duo hosted different guests each week and discussed topics ranging from dealing with injuries to getting traded and everything in between. In addition to giving listeners an inside look into the hockey family, Ida and Julie wanted to do more. With every new perspective, they also requested that each guest provide an auction item to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
In total, the items donated by guests of Off Ice With Ida & Julie brought in $4,000 for the Middle Tennessee branch of Second Harvest Food Bank. At a check presentation last week, Second Harvest Middle Tennessee Community Relations Manager Courtney Blaise shared that this sum will provide 16,000 meals for hungry people in the region.
To hear the stories of women within the Preds organization and around the League, or for opportunities to bid on future items,
