Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth National Independence Day, Black Independence Day, Freedom Day, Jubilee Day and Emancipation Day, is considered the longest running African-American holiday in the United States. On June 17, 2021, the historic date officially became a federal holiday.
In recognition of the important historical date and federal holiday, the Predators are proud to join D-ConneX, LLC as a presenting sponsor of the Inaugural Juneteenth Block Party at the Local Distro on Monday, June 20.
"We are so excited to partner with one of the best athletic organizations in Tennessee, the Nashville Predators," said D-ConneX CEO Donzaleigh Powell. "We are all about inclusion and thankful to have a partner vested and consistently supporting all communities, including communities of color."
"The Nashville Predators are excited to partner with D-ConneX as a sponsor of the Juneteenth Block Party," said Predators Vice President of Corporate Sponsorship Service Robin Lee. "Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. As the Nashville Predators continue to use our GUIDER platform to bring change and awareness to our community, the Juneteenth Block Party will be a great opportunity to highlight minority-owned businesses and educate community members on the significance of Juneteenth."
In addition to sponsoring the block party, the Preds are also spotlighting a number of Juneteenth events that will be celebrated across Middle Tennessee in the coming days. Take a look at the full list below and visit
