The Predators skipped the traditional morning skate today: “I told them not to skate," head coach Barry Trotz said. "We've got five games in eight nights. We've had a lot of the flu bug going around.”

Trotz expects Mike Fisher—who missed Sunday’s game with the flu—to be back in the lineup tonight against Vancouver. But forward Chris Mueller was called up from Nashville’s minor-league affiliate in Milwaukee today just in case the flu bug strikes again.

"Mueller is an insurance policy,” Trotz said, “because we don't want to be in the same situation we were in Dallas, where we were scrambling [when Fisher couldn’t play and the team ultimately dressed seven defensemen]. Who knows who might come in this afternoon [sick]. Trust me, [Mueller] will be going for warm-up for sure."

Patric Hornqvist, who remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury, will not return tonight. He is close, however, according to Trotz. Hornqvist skated this morning with defenseman Jack Hillen and goaltender Anders Lindback. That trio was joined briefly by Fisher and David Legwand, neither of whom skated yesterday.
