ADMIRALS SHUTOUT IN HOUSTON
Aeros Take 3-1 Series Lead; Game Five Saturday
Milwaukee, WI – Houston Aeros goaltender Anton Khudobin stopped all 27 shots Milwaukee threw at him, including 12 in the third period alone, as the Aeros topped the Admirals 2-0 in game five of the West Division Semifinals. The win gives Houston a 3-1 lead in the best of seven series with game five scheduled for Saturday night.
As in the other two loses in the series, penalties were again a problem for the Admirals. Houston picked up the only goal they would need on a Benoit Pouliot power-play marker at 16:56 of the opening period and then put on the clamps defensively the rest of the way.
Milwaukee outshot the Aeros in every period, including a 12-2 advantage in the last stanza, but couldn’t crack Khudobin. The Admirals had three power-play chances on the night and pulled netminder Drew MacIntyre for the final 81 seconds of the game as well.
Krys Kolanos finished the scoring with an empty-netter with just two seconds left in the contests.
Drew MacIntyre allowed just the one goal, but still suffered the loss. He has now allowed one goal in six of Milwaukee eight games, however his record in the post-season fell to 5-3.
The Admirals will attempt to keep their season alive in game five of the series on Saturday night at the Toyota Center in Houston at 7:00 pm. Fans can watch the game live at Buck Bradley’s, located at 1019 N. Old World 3rd St.
