Even in the midst of one of the more humid days of the summertime, the city of Nashville still has hockey on its mind.
During the Metropolitan Sports Authority meeting at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County declared August 17, 2017, to be Nashville Predators Day. The resolution was presented with the intention of, "recognizing and congratulating Nashville Predators Head Coach Peter Laviolette, the 2016-17 Nashville Predators Ice Hockey Team and the entire ice hockey staff," for an outstanding season.
It's one of many honors the club has received from the city of Nashville over the past year, including various proclamations from Mayor Megan Barry, as well as center Ryan Johansen serving as Honorary Mayor for a day during the Stanley Cup Final.
